Hello, I am Swami Hariharananda Giri. I am talking. Today my point of discourse is Kriya Yoga. Kri means "you do your work" and ya means "the indwelling Self who is doing work through your whole body." He is hiding on top of your head at the fontanel, and He is doing work from there. The same thing is written, in essence, in the Bible (Genesis 1:27 and 2:7): "God made man and woman in his own image and he breathed into their nostrils the breath of his life, and he became the living soul in the whole universe." The Supreme Almighty Lord is all pervading, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent and He is hiding in the whole body. He is hiding Himself in the fontanel at the top of the head, inside the cranium. And from that place, He is doing all works.
It is also said in the Shvetashvatara Upanishad, 6:11:
eko devah sarvabhuteshu gudhah
sarvavyapi sarvabhutantaratma
karmadhyakshah sarvabhutadhivasah
sakshi cheta kevalo nirgunashcha
The translation is:
eko devah sarvabhuteshu gudhah, The one Heavenly Father made man and woman and He is hiding in their head.
sarvavyapi, He is all over the universe, all-pervading. sarvabhutantaratma, He is the indwelling Self of every human being.
karmadhyakshah, Any work human beings are doing, it is done by Him.
sarvabhutadhivasah sakshi, He is inhaling. (It is why you all can hear these words.)
cheta, Your life, your thoughts, my thoughts, intellect and ego--all are coming from Him.
kevalo, He is constantly remaining in every human being. When you are sleeping, He is still working, inhaling and exhaling.
nirgunashcha, He is formless. Form, maya, is for delusion, illusion, and error, and for material gain. He is inhaling from the top, and if you watch and practice that shortest breath, then you can get God-realization.
And in the Jana Sankalini Tantra it says:
ayur vayuh balam vayuh vayur dhata sharirena vayu sarvamidam vishvam vayu pratyaksha devata
The translation is:
ayur vayuh, Breath is life. Your breath is your longevity. Without breath you are all dead bodies.
balam vayuh, Your strength is remaining in the breath.
vayur dhata sharirena, The whole body is maintained by the Supreme Almighty Lord.
vayu sarvamidam vishvam, The Supreme Almighty Lord's power is remaining in the whole world and universe.
vayu pratyaksha devata, Vayu here is the living power of God which is remaining in every human being, and human being is doing work.
Now I am telling, Kriya Yoga is the highway of common religions. It is the fastest and safest way to attain realization. There are many types of yogas and there are many religions, sects, cults and monastic orders. The problem is that they are doing things only by using the five sense organs. Wisdom cannot be perceived by the five sense organs. It can only be perceived by the atom point in the fontanel. So, you are to take a short breath, and with that short breath you are to calmly watch the Supreme Almighty Lord who is hiding inside your head.
There is anger, pride, cruelty, insincerity, hypocrisy, mischief, indecency, immoral sex and debauchery in our bodies. These negative qualities come from the right cerebrum, but Kriya Yoga is a technique that can change all your evils. The left cerebrum houses positive qualities such as sweetness, kindness, lovingness, purity and perfection. So you should practice Kriya Yoga. It is the simplest, easiest, surest and quickest technique. It is very simple because it uses the shortest breath. What can be simpler? If you watch the breath calmly, then surely you will get the Supreme Almighty Lord. You can realize Him. You cannot see Him because He is formless. Eko devah sarvabhuteshu gudhah means that He is hiding. Sakshi cheta kevalo means He is constantly in your whole body. He is formless or nirguna.
There is an invisible counterpart to each of our body parts. That invisible counterpart is the Supreme Almighty Lord. So, you are really the power of the Supreme Almighty Lord. You have to practice this technique. It is a shortcut technique. It is the simplest technique. Within a short period, you can get God-realization, reality and truth. The more you try to perceive Him, the closer you will get. Kriya Yoga is not ashtanga yoga (the eight-limbed system of yoga systematized by Sage Patanjali). Kriya Yoga is not raja yoga. In the Bhagavad Gita there are eighteen types of yoga, but Kriya is not one of them.
Kriya Yoga is chaturanga yoga (the last four limbs of Patanjali's eight-limb system). It consists of (1) pratyahara (sense-withdrawal): you will be free from your mind, thoughts, intellect, ego, body sense and worldly sense. Then you get (2) dharana (concentration). Through that, you will come to (3) dhyana, the stage of meditation and eventually you will get godhood (4) samadhi. You will perceive God, and you will realize that God is hiding in your fontanel. He is doing everything. If you learn the technique and practice it, then you will be free from all diseases. You will never get cancer. You will never get any disease or indigestion. It is such a nice technique.
Kriya Yoga is the master technique, and it is done by the Supreme Almighty Lord through you. You should practice it calmly, and slowly search for Him in the fontanel. Then you will get the three divine qualities in every moment: A-U-M or aum. "A" is the divine sound that you will hear constantly. "U" is the divine pulsation, which is the super-conscious stage and cosmic-conscious stage. You will get calmness and you will feel pulsation in the whole body because He is remaining there. You will also see light, which is "M", in your whole body because the Supreme Almighty Lord is the illumination. You must practice it very slowly, calmly, joyfully, divinely and then you will get the Supreme Almighty Lord, His power, and you will be free from everything. All evils will disappear and you will be pure.
You should practice the technique this way, even if only for five minutes. You will achieve alertness of the inner Self, and in every moment you will feel that the Supreme Almighty Lord is doing everything. Without Him you cannot do anything. He is the sole doer. You cannot know the Supreme Almighty Lord until and unless you have the deepest desire and the deepest love Him. Kriya Yoga is a master technique. It is the simplest, quickest, surest and non-sectarian way to realize God.
You must practice Kriya Yoga with the deepest kind of love. Then you will realize that I am not talking: the Supreme Lord is really talking. He is hiding in my head and my attention is always remaining there. I am feeling His sensation inside my fontanel, and I know that He is remaining there and it is His talk. He is remaining everywhere. He is doing everything. The more you practice, the more you will know true reality and your body will be free from all types of diseases. You will live for a hundred years, free from all diseases. You will also get calmness, purity, simplicity and divinity by practicing Kriya Yoga. So, the more you wholeheartedly try and practice, the sooner you will get reality.
In the Patanjali Yoga Sutras 2:1 it is said, tapah svadhyayah ishvarapranadhanani kriya yogah which means, "Kriya Yoga is breath control (tapas) and studies the Self by remaining in the company of the soul (sva adhyaya) and surrendering to God (ishwara pranidhanani)." You will be free from all negative things, and you will be left with only love for the Supreme Almighty Lord. You will give Him all of your negative qualities. Kriya Yoga is not practiced with the five sense organs because it is a very special technique: yogah karmasu kaushalam, or "Yoga is skill in action." (Bhagavad Gita 2:50)
Every human being is born only for God-realization. There are 50 types of breath, one of which is for God-realization, but people are always busy with the 49 breaths used for sense enjoyment. This is why they have no time to meditate. Even if you meditate for only five minute's time, then you will get alertness for the whole day and night. You will see the indwelling Self as the sole doer. I am not doing anything. Automatically you will perceive true reality, purity, calmness, divinity, sweetness and lovingness.
No one can see any harshness in Hariharananda. I am now 92 years, 8 months, and a few days old, and I am still talking. I am in touch with you all, and I am giving my life to you all. You all can come here in Miami, get the reality and get the technique easily. I am still teaching and giving lessons to every person. We are born for reality. The truth is at your hand, but you are not practicing Kriya Yoga. People all over the whole world should practice it. They should practice the Kriya Yoga technique along with whatever other technique they are using. Kriya Yoga will give them reality, as well as purity, perfection and simplicity.
So, I am telling, the more you practice Kriya Yoga, the more you will see that God is moving on top of your head and He is also moving below your feet. You will perceive pulsation, sound and light. You will feel it in your whole body. You will go to the Infinity where the Supreme Almighty Lord is remaining. This calmness is godliness, and it is a rare calmness. If you practice it, you will get reality. You all take my deepest affection, and enjoy the blessings of God and gurus.
I humbly beg to complete my talk here.
Thank you very much. God bless you all.
